Nutrition & Exercise Medicine For Cancer
I began my journey with a dream of becoming a kickboxing and strength and conditioning coach, enrolling in an exercise science bachelor’s program in Greece. My fascination with athletic performance and the science of optimization led me to a Master’s Degree in Biomedicine in Sweden and later to Australia, where I pursued a PhD in exercise physiology. My focus was on understanding muscle and connective tissue, discovering how to build strength with low-effort exercise.
After my PhD, due to my expertise in building muscle and strength through low-effort exercise, I was invited to research men with prostate cancer undergoing androgen deprivation therapy. My role was to help them retain (and even build) muscle despite the lack of testosterone. This experience changed my life. I witnessed how exercise and nutrition transformed their health, strength, confidence, and emotional resilience during cancer. Their gratitude and the impact on their lives made me realize and feel that this was my true calling.
From that moment, I shifted my focus to helping people with cancer. I went into clinical trials in advanced cancers—breast, pancreatic, bowel, lung—and deepened my understanding of how exercise and nutrition could reduce side effects, enhance treatment success, and restore vitality.
Today, my purpose is clear: to guide people on their cancer journey, helping them feel stronger, more in control, and healthier, both during treatment and beyond, through evidence-based strategies. Through my work, I want to empower others to live with vitality, resilience, and hope.
